Full documentation for modding is also on its way detailing all YML properties and what they do, as well as guides to creating mods. Extensive level editor improvements are on the way. Some more things that are coming in future updates: You will be able to play MP while modded safely, any joining clients will download the required mods from the host, and they will then have the hosts customised ruleset locally. We have added extensive validation improvements to make finding issues with created mods easier to diagnose. This makes updating easier, and it means multiple mods that alter the same file (as long as they alter different properties) can be used together. You only need to specify the properties you want to change in modded YML, instead of replacing the entire YML. As with the current system, you can combine any number of compatible gameplay mods together to form a custom game mode (called a Ruleset). Modded game modes have their own saves, so you can easily switch between the standard built in game modes and modded modes. Mods create new modded game modes that are completely independent from Guildmaster (and the Campaign when it is released). You no longer modify the Guildmaster mode. Mods now create entirely new game modes. New modded YML must use models/graphics that are available in the game. You no longer need to edit an existing YML, you can create brand new YML and make your own customised things. You can create completely new characters, ability cards, item cards, monsters, summons, etc. Three types of mods are supported: Gameplay (modifies YML and/or game text), Language (adds an entire selectable language to the options menu), and Custom Levels (adds playable scenarios/puzzle levels that can be played individually). You do not need to launch the game with modding enabled anymore, they are fully supported when launching normally. These are the details for the new modding update: The current release only supports Language mods as we are still in progress with the rest of this change, but once it is released we will support a lot of new functionality that has been asked for by the modding community. The downside of this is that all gameplay mods are invalidated by this change and will need to be updated before they work again (language mods will still work though). We have made extensive changes to the YML for this release in order to improve things for modding.
